Handmade music, the best kind. Bear with me for a minute, there are a few more to hear.

Most folks will have never heard of these guys but they are master craftsmen.

Guy Clark:

Tom Russell:

Steve Young (the other one):

Chris Smither:

Chuck Pyle:

Ray Hubbard again, just 'cause this song is so damned good.

I hope it is ok to post this question in this thread...I have a couple of Jack Johnson CDs that were given to me, that I really like. I dont follow musicians/bands much other than whats on the mainstream radio. So, can anyone recommend similar musicians? I like the "mellowness" of JJs music, helps me relax...LOL

Thanks

Mark Lanegan

Shawn Smith

All these guys can have mellow music, but they all rock as well, it all depends on the album.

I don't listen to much hip-hop but this is good enough that I like it. I really dig Ludacris's lyrics. Unlike so many of these guys, I think that he has actual poetic abilities. The William Bell sample is nice, too.

I got a job today so this song seems appropriate.

What is with all of the Auto-Tune in hip-hop and R&B music today? Remember when black people could sing so well? How did the culture that produced Sam Cooke go on to produce Lil Wayne and T-Pain? What a shame.
