HI all, I have just bought my first LR product, 96 Disco SE7, and i love driving it, i love my BMW but for the past 3 weeks have only driven the Disco, what a great truck, have seen alot of great info here and will help where I can, I just got the diff lock working so if any one needs some help in getting the diff lock to lock let me know, I did take photos so I might put together a PDF file of the procedures for anyones use...... thats all for now -Andy

There's this big PDF-like thing in your glovebox that shows you how to work the diff-lock.

It's called an Owner's Manual. :D

ok, let me say it again "diff lock working" it was stuck like the previous owner never used it, and BTW the owners manual is nothing like a PDF, you see a PDF or Portable Document Format is a "coumputer" file made up of a bunch of 1's and 0's the manual is a printed piece web offset printed in 1/1 ink and bound for your amusement...... thanks for the nice welcome ....

Andrew -

Don't take any offense to the above.. I was going to post a welcome, but I couldn't figure out if you meant that you fixed the CDL or if you just figured out how to work it. If you fixed it, then our welcome would have been sincere, if you figured out how to work it, and said that you were going to post a PDF, I would have assumed that you were being sarcastic since 99% of LR owners probably do need a PDF on how to use the CDL.

Hope that makes sense, anyways, welcome to dweb!

I think I will need to replace the front/center and rear left johnson rod couplings, mine are worn but i heard that ones from a Yugo work fine, in fact i read on the "internet" that they are from the same factory ......

Welcome aboard.

Its modification time, now that you have the CDL 'unstuck'. Now the first thing you'll want to alter is the "watts linkage'. From what I have heard, this is definitely the way to go :D

Justin..Can I trade you that muffler bearing for lets say a Genuine LR Sunvisor Clip ?? :D
Welcome dude...My CDL was stuck too when I bought my 1998 D1. It was driven by the "grocery getter" ..Just the other day I found some really cute little hair ties from a child wedged in the seat. I know for sure they were not mine. Melissa N

Boy, can't even throw in a friendly jab without the Holier Than Thou crowd coming down on you.

Fortunately enough, a Doctorate of Philosophy comes with a clause allowing for random and wanton acts of arrogance and elitism :D

You'll get used to this place real quick, Andy. Just be careful what you ask -- you're now under the scrunity of every web-wheelin' desk jockey Rover owner in the country. ;)

Andrew, Welcome to dweb. Don't let Cmongetalife get under your skin. He has nothing good to say about anyone.
