she still drives but its like a banana on an ice luge. i might go to work in it tonight. i moved the wheel around and its still holding up just so loose tho

I don't think I would drive it with that tie rod bent all to hell like that. You're toe in will be a bit out of wack and if you keep driving it you'll chew up your tires.

thanks for the advice folks.

i'm gonna meander my way to the shop in the AM trying to take as few turns as possible.

hopefully they can give me some more of the nitty gritty shit but i think i'm not in too bad of shape.

wish i could upgrade at this time to those HD tracks, but i'm a loser and there's no money in digging graves anymore...j/k

time to get out the old trek bundle up...:victory:

X2 and the track rod is attached to the steering box. The tie rod connect the knuckle to knuckle.

Always a nomenclature thing... In standard US Garage speak the tie tod ties the two steering arms together while the drag ling is what is used to drag the steering around with the Steering box via the pitman arm. The panhard rod is frequently called the Track Bar as it keeps the car tracking true down the road. These steering bars are held to the streering arms via Tie rod ends.
In UK speak, the track rod can equal the tie rod or the drag link or even the Panhard although the drag link is usually the drag link, the tie rod ends are usually steering ball joints and the pittman arm is the "drop arm" .

It's confusing sometimes... i always try to ask lots of Q's before selling the part..

yea this is gonna sound just as stupid as driving thru tall grass @ night in the first place, but... i've got to drive ol' puddles down the road about 5 miles (back roads) to get to the shop. then i'll leave her there for now. gonna try not to turn too much its an easy road.

this shit makes me feel like i'm naked, running backwards thru the woods and it's dark out.:ack:

its freezing out and i cant drive the bike much longer...! going to pray its cheap and Will has the parts!!!

as for the hd nt, too broke. i wish tho, maybe this summer when i can work outside again. right now it's really starting to get cold and not good for rover work. i have no garage, plus i couldn't fit in it anyway (rack and spare on it).

wish me luck, i will probably get raped again.

it looks like your harmonic dampner is leaking....might want to upgrade to an HD dampner as long as you're working under there.

At your mom's
I second the RTE rods and relocation clamp. If you relocate the damper, I BELIEVE a different damper is required... Think think... Yes, a d-90 damper.

If your TREs are relatively new, reuse them. Use the money saved to buy a decent oil filter.

If you're cheap. Just get it off and bang on it with a BFH. It will soften it though. Did it 2-3 times before I upgraded, but don't come to me if you have problems.

Otherwise just contact someone here (Will Tillery) for a POS stocker to replace.
