i picked this one up last week. WWI colt 1911 made in 1918. it was refinished at one time but still has the black army type finsh, the grips were changed out with early 1911A1 wood grips & the mag is a WWII scovill. now i need to find the correct grips & a 2-tone mag.

after shipping & tax i paid right at $1000. correct WWI era grips will run me about $75-100 & if i get lucky the correct mag will run about the same. i could have looked around a bit & probably got one in similar condition for about $800, but the way prices are going up on usgi pistols if you don't buy it when you first see it don't plan on it being there when you decide to come back for it.
scovill mags are going for about $45 & early 1911A1 wood grips are almost impossible to find so i'll probably hang on to the parts i take off
