Yeah, that brings up another question...where in the heck do you get them serviced if you don't live ANYWHERE near a Porsche dealer?

(not that I can afford one anytime soon either...)

Contact your local PCA. Like all the great help you get here on Discoweb, you will find the local PCA just as helpful finding a reputable shop to work on the car.

Roverjoe - a 97' can be had for slightly more than that without a salvage title...I would do a little more surfing and find a cleaner option. There are so many out there right now. The only thing you really should do prior to purchasing one of these beasts is pay for a mechanic's inspection first as they can have dash error lights reset that stay out for a few cycles of run time thus planting you into a large repair only weeks after purchase. Good luck!

Agreed, you should be able to find a good, clean '97 for the mid to high teens. Shop around. I would buy the salvage titled car, but for under 10, and only as a track car. Like Jimjet says, trying to resell it as a street car down the road will be extremely difficult.

I love my 98 areo boxster, but i wish it was the S. still a great car with to trunks we use it as a daily driver. plus youl love the look of people as you load bag into the front. good luck with it. also check out PPBB.com

do not go for the salvage boxster. It will be very hard to sell.

Eric N - "Take it out and stretch it's legs yet?"

Yes...just a bit.

However its not a daily driver so I find myself creating reasons to drive it each day.
"Honey, do you need me to pick up some groceries?, How about a bagle, maybe some Ice cream?"...anything to get in and drive!

That said I have taken it out on the GSP here in NJ and ran it right up to 130 with the top down but only once was I able to take it through a good couple of turns at speed to date. That's where its at with this thing.

John, just by coincidence, you wouldn't be parking the porsche in Bloomfield during the day? I seen a very similar car there, same rims and all. Just next to my building complex.
