I think a 2 door would be better. Lightweight, efficient, etc.

Price sure as hell is right. Get it in a different color than the ZOMG yellow and little bit bigger tires and it would be a SMART killer.

I think the Smart sucks too. They are already showing up on used car lots here in the middle of nowhere and they aren't selling.

People want good milage in a dependable car and they are willing to pay for it. They also want space and HP.

People want everything, but they can't have it. Cheap, reliable, efficient, big, and cool just don't all go together. It's like I keep telling producers, "Cheap, fast, good; pick two."

This is what's wrong with the U.S.A.

There is no pick two. It should be quality first.

The other problem is that buisness owners are marketing their products to people that have no money. That will work for Dollar Tree but not the big three.

Fast and cheap has its place - the problem is when people expect all of the above, and when the marketplace is dominated by fast and cheap.

You think so? American's want quantity not quality. There's a reason Wal Marts are successful. We love to buy cheap food, furniture, clothes and just about everything else.

That's why they have truck stop buffets, too!

Quality is always better than quanity. However quantiy has a certain quality does it not?

The Nano certainly isn't fast. It is just cheap. It reminds me of the mighty Yugo.:ack:

I can't recall ever having gassed up the truck and loading up the family for a nice meal at a truck stop buffet.

I have however eaten at a few truck stops when nothing else was available. IIRC the food and service sucked.

The Yugo was actually a decent vehicle for what it was. It's a mid 70's FIAT with rights to build it first sold to the Russians, then to Yugoslavia for third world markets. Malcolm Bricklin thought he could import it and start another import revolution like the British cars and Japanese cars before it. Like the small Japanese cars before it, it wasn't suited for American tastes and needs. Federalizing it killed what performance it had and made it more complicated. If there would have been more financial support behind it, Yugo could have been the next Hyundai or Kia (you have no idea how bad Kia's were. We had 500 of them at Budget-- part of the reason they were first imported). Instead Yugo was a one hit wonder. I'm sure they're still made in Russia, if VW hasn't bought the plant to make Polos and Golfs.

It was an unreliable piece of shit. The early VW's were a piece of shit but they ran forever. Therein lies the difference. With the VW's people thought that they had got a bargain. With the Yugo they just got fucked.
