Need a pic of a rear 88 shock mount

Ok So i have done very little on the Rover over the last few months due to work commitments. Now i am at a point where i have ground off the rear axle mounts off the LC axle. So i need to find a way to mount the rear shocks. The original Salisbury axle mounted on the axle and i know they were different than the 88. I will mount my shocks similar to an 88 as i did not keep the lower shock mount off the Salisbury. I am trying to make it easy when ordering parts in the future so i want to try to keep the mounts similar so i can just call order off the shelf parts rater then saying i need a set of shocks x amount long.

So anyone who can take a pic for me that would be great so i can get an idea on how to mount mine.

Thanks

Leslie i saw that picture but i was not sure if it was more of a stock photo.
That will make my life a lot easier for sure and will save some welding time.

I wonder why they did not just do the same on the 109's. The front is the same as the 88's.

galen.

they are mounted correctly. every land rover product I have seen has the cylinder down and the rod up.

Don't know if it matters but your shocks are upside down. The only problem I see if dirt collecting and staying on top of the tube. I have no idea if that has any effect on anything......

Huh? They are mounted upside down. Never seen a series with them mounted that way. Why would you?

think about it. the stock shocks have a cylinder that is mounted down, and a hard shroud that is mounted up. then look at a 109, 110, rangie, disco, or defender rear shock, that only has an eye at the top. the eye is always at the end of the rod not the cylinder. the only way you can fit them the way you have is on an 88. This appllies to stock, OME, and ProComp units. anything else is anybody's guess. I'd have to look @ the ranchos on the RR to see, but IIRC they are the fitted same as the ones in the photo, flexi boot UP.

You gentlemen have yours all fitted upside down. Think about that poor metal shroud filling with dirt! Given flexi-boots I am not sure how much it matters. Show me evidence to the contrary. Your ball, hit it out of the park.

I concur that these are upside down; mine are mounted the other way, too.
