Ok people, I have a 99 D2 with ACE. Noticed that I have been hearing clunks at hard angle turns over bumps. I was doing some wheel swaping this weekend, and as soon as I put her back on the road she started pulling real bad to the left. I finally noticed that the bushing on the ACE actuator where is connects to the short arm is destroyed. I am figuring this is my main pulling problem?! I went to the dealer and they are having a hard time helping me find parts. Even the RAVE cd doesn't give me a part number(that I can find):banghead: Trying to sell this truck, but she won't let me go with all the "honey do's" I don't want to sell anyone a trouble truck.

ABSOFREAKNLUTELY!!! You are a god!:applause: I saw this breakdown in Rave, but I never found part numbers. What I need is #9. Any idea if this would cause severe pulling if it went bad?

Not really sure tbh, but in "general" any play in suspension items can cause issue like that, maybe that more so as its directly on the roll bar. If its that "pooped" then it needs to be fixed to atleast eliminate it from your investigations.

Number 13 (roll bar bushes) are VERY common to wear, and they can cause a "knocking" as the roll bar knocks on the chassis when the bush is fubar'd, cheap to replace as well

Ok, I checked with my local dealer for the part described as #9. $160.00:eek: As I understand it, low range will disengage the ACE system. I did that, felt it disengage, but it still pulls. Swapped the tires back to where they were, suspecting a broken belt. Still no change! I have checked all the non ACE suspension bushings, including the pan had rod. All super tight! I have NO idea what the hell is going on! I am just going to have to get the alignment done. Nothing makes any sense.

My home is where my Disco is
Hi there,
my ACE bush RBX101740 has collapsed as well, I did not hear any clunks, just noticed it today when looking for another oil drip issue (3rd diff flange seal in 1 year...)

I've seen the price, around 86 euros at this side of the pond. There is another pattern part much cheaper but... due to the time consuming job in replacing it won't risk. My question is if it's viable to take a shortcut in order to make bush swap faster and simpler, I mean
1.- undo sway bar links from axle, not from the sway bar
2.- Take of RH wheel and lift vehicle on a ramp
3.- Undo bolt 23 (long actuator arm from torsion bar) and 24 (actuator to short arm)
4.- Actuator is free an can be moved out of the way and long arm removed
5.- Same time tie long arm with actuator somewhere in order not to kink-force ACE flex pipes
6.- Drop anti roll bar and extract bush and insert new one.
7.- Reverse order of removal

This saves a lot of time and hassle and dsipenses having to bleed the dreaded ACE system.
In 13 years and 90K or so I might change as well the sway bar bushes as will e past their sell-by date

Is this a feasible option? How about in the rear end, where everything is pretty much more crowded?
propshaft will be out as well in order to replace drive flange and seal

Best regards and thank you

Robert
