Need Brake Pipes

The other day I realized that there's a pretty significant leak from one of the brake pipes heading to the rear axel on my 95 Disco. Since the truck is 10yrs old and spent most of it's life in the midwest with all of the lovely salt on the roads in the winter I'm not surprised that corrosion has taken it's toll.

I was hoping to find OEM replacements for all of the pipes so that they would be pre-bent to the right shape and I could then just pop them in. However they don't seem to be a common part at all. I've checked all the normal online places and none have them. Since this cropped up late last week, I haven't had a chance to actually call anyplace to ask in person.

Any suggestions on where to get the brake pipes? I'd like to do this job myself, half of the fun of the disco is being able to work on it, but would it be better to just take it to a mechanic?

Any help would be appreciated.

you have checked with Rovers North and Atlantic British?

I've check both Rovers North and Atlantic British (as well as a handful of others). Well their online catalogs anyways. I suppose I should actually give them a call. But since the website doesn't show them at all I'm not excepting much.

well an easy solution is to simply have a garage custom bend new lines for you. you can install if you choose.

Yeah I think I'll stay away from the junk yards for this, I'm already dealing with used and deteriorated parts here. And since some might put brakes in the 'really should have these working' category, new is the way to go for me.

It's looking like the course of action to take is to find a local shop to at least bend the pipes for me, and the more I think about it I might just break down and have the shop do it all since I live in an apartment and don't have a good place to work on my truck.

This is a pretty newbie question, but is there nothing special about the brake pipes? Are they just your run-of-the mill steel tubing that is common to all cars? How about the connectors, are those common sizes as well? I've never really delt with the specifics like this before, and I'm curious, and I want to make sure that I get good quality replacement parts.

Call AB, Rovers North, and DAP.

Their catalogs or web pages don't list everything they sell.

The connectors on the brake hoses to the hard lines are 10mm 1.0 pitch. Its a good bet that the hard line to calipers is the same.
