Long story short I needed to replace alt. and battery. Now the new alt. didn't work so I had it tested and it was fine but guy at NAPA gave me another new one that was also tested fine. It's only putting out around 12v instead of the 13.7v I read on here. I put the new one in and started disco with heater on to defrost windows and the battery started to go south. Now it won't start due to not enough juice. I replaced the fuse for the alt. but juice isn't getting put back into battery. I'm going out to clean battery ground as this is the only thing left that might be the problem. I have no fing clue. Also where does the field wire go on the back of the alt and what's it do ??

It's fixed. I took ground off an polished it til I could shave in it and put it back together. Alt. is now putting 13.8v at the battery. I guess I underestimated the power of a really clean ground.

you'll probally need another new alternator soon, the rebuilds are just pieces of shit. I went through 3 rebuilds, until I bought a new MM 120 amp one. Haven't had a problem since.

Well I installed the M-M and returned the reman to NAPA for a refund and everthing seems to be OK. It did let out a screech (for some reason)once but hasn't happened anymore.
