for a quick fix.. stop an auto parts store and slap in the correct refill (blade only). you will pull out the rubber wiper, and replace with a (refill) new rubber wiper blade.

over there
see if they have wiper blades for a 2000 bmw 528 (the whole wiper blade not the refill). when you get a chance get some D1 wiper arms, the blades for those, even good valeo blades, are around $10 each.

I never had problems getting refill blades. If you search I even posted part numbers here and on LRO.

A friend of mine has a D2. He reamed out the hole on the arm, or drilled a hole, with a drillbit or something. He can use normal blades now that fit onto a pin. He just used a machine screw and nut in place of the pin.

I did something similar. I didn't drill anything though. I used one of the machine screw pins with steps in the shank and 2 small nuts. I think I got the pins from an Autozone universal wiper kit.

Store didn't have any in their catalogue so I just measured mine and bought a pair the same size. Bosch Elites I believe. perfect fit. Back wiper is an issue though.

FYI, your truck has been converted to DI wiper arms thus you can buy them in the store. DII factory arms are not quite so easy.

Here D2 blades are $15 at the dealer.
I'd spend more in fuel to get to the dealer and back than the blades would cost. If I owned a D2, that is. ;)
Fact is making something like wiper blades proprietary is just plain foolish.

British Pacific stocks them. 6$ a piece.
I'm sure the $6 wipers work great, too. The point is the inconvenience of sourcing a proprietary blade and also the limited selection; versus being able to walk into an auto parts store or Walmart and have a wide selection of blades to choose from.

Fair enough.
