No mention of air bags or N.America.

Here's to hoping "The specification, design and production of any vehicle shown is subject to alteration without notice." includes what's needed to get it over here.

Our friends across the pond don't seem to be thrilled the the power plant FORD has selected. I hope they put in the features needed to bring her back State side. I would think that there would be a line out the door for the first ones that hit the show rooms. Heck we may still be paying "too much" for these things! LOL!

The CEO of International S.A. was my neighbor when I lived in Sao Paulo.

He was sorry to loose LR?s business although it was a small piece of his overal business.

They were trying to get the 2.8 Powerstroke as the new engine.

Too bad they couldn?t convince Ford to stay with them.

Of course Ford most likely feels their engines are the better anyhow.

So it comes out of a transit van, the Euro equivalent of a Ford E series.....

Notice now carefully they are in pics to conceal the Hump

Except that Ford puts the 2.8TGV in Rangers down in South America, so maybe it's not so much Ford, but the Land Rover people?

Hopefully, Ford sell them before too many are made and they get to drop all Ford content............

If you look closely at the side of a 2.8L powerstroke you'll see it's stamped "FORD RANGER" so this may not be a Ford decision to go with a different engine. Also the 2.8's look almost identical to the 300Tdi's just slightly bigger displacement so it's quite possible LR or Ford feel that diesel technology better spent on heading towards CRD technology.

??minor redesign of the hood to meet EU pedestrian protection rules``

that must be some strange rule!

I thought the same thing - couldn't figure it out until I was watching an old episode of Top Gear (really old - something like the third ever). They had the guy that designed the DB7 on the show talking about the design of the car. He mentioned that a car like the DB7 would not be possible today, because the new EU restrictions require that there be three inches (or 30cm...something along those lines) between the bonnet and the engine.

Personally, if I just got hit by a car, I'd be a little more worried about how dead I was. Not whether I was 3 inches away from the engine.

During a visit to the 'Home of the Legend' I was told that the 'Transit' engine pulls like a train, since it has so much torque.......Also I read the hump is to clear a taller engine, not for EU regs, but in any case it's to allow for deformation of the 'bonnet' rather than have it hit the top of the engine an become a 'hard landing pad'.

No one has yet mentioned the dash... weakmo IMHO. Looks like a LR3 which =poopoo
the shelf is sweet why lose it?

the hood hump is funny... 3in isn't going to help the rest of your body smashing in to steal. not to mention you gonads on the bumper.

Man those seats look comfy...

all in all I'd still do her :)
