With the amount of aftermarket support for Wranglers you will have the option of new fenders (probably 30 different kinds) and any other part on the rig you don't like..

Front bumper would be the third thing to go right after a lift and new tires. Forth would be a rear bumper with swing-away tire carrier.

Sorry like the original con best. i hate to say it but I'd rather have an H-3 than that new Jeep. And now you can get the Eaton front locker fro the h-3.

I think that I would rather drive a smart car than an H3, or H2 for that matter. I have a buddy with one. Let me tell you, in case you've been living under a rock, they are crap. Absolute crap. More broken parts than a ...well even more than a rover. Terrible fuel mileage, terrible tranny, terrible front ends. I mean the chevy front end has never been the same since 1985/86. My buddy has spent more money on that ugly "H" abortion than I did on my first house. He absolutely hates it but is into it for so much money, he can't even give it away for someone to take over his payments. He has over 30 grand into accessories and it still looks uglier than sin. He has it sitting on 37" rubber, and I can go circles around him on any trail accept pavement. He has me beat on hard top with his super charger. If he could keep U-joints in it any ways.

But, as they say, it's my opinion not yours.

Lets see, couldn't sell my 90 with all, and I mean all the goodies-4.10's, ARB's, 35's, and only 35K miles- so stripped it back to stock, sold in 5 days, sold the goodies, bought an '06 Unlimited, gutted it, Ford 9's, coilovers, 40's, basicly a street legal rock buggy, very showy and more than capable, and same $$. Flame if you will, but try to wheel with it first, and buy parts on any corner. The new ones are more than a cousin to the G, and with the MB diesel soon, the Disco will be getting the boot as well. I've been a die hard Rover guy for 13 years, but Ford has lost the vision. They are even putting the LR diesel in the Expedition and F150, but NOT the LR3- at least "not for now". Sorry, but it's time to return to the Jeep, which I started with in '74, that's right, because LR pulled out of the States. I wanted and saved for a Series, but they bailed. History does repeat itself I guess.

i've been trying to avoid jeeps but i saw a 4 door yesterday, those are hideous. i thought it was some redneck stretch job until i walked up to it. why did they put full doors on the front and half doors on the rear? it looked like it was made from two differnt jeeps.

Still like the 3. Supercharger = broken parts. As I understand it from my jeep friends the first thing you do is get rid of the axles. so it sounds like the h-3 is on target LOL. Cant stomach an FJ yet, but won't bash a Toy.

Nope the next thing for me is a series or defender

Sure I could get aftermarket fenders, but I'd rather start witha decent truck and keep upgrades to a minimum. My Disco did everything I wanted in bone stock form, came with metal fenders and didn't look like ass, a box yes, but ass no. Sure I have upgraded it, but only as stock parts wore out, the springs were sagging a little so I got OMEs, I got hit so I got a new TJM bumper, I go surfing and needed a rack so I bought a used SD. The rack was the only thing that in stock form sucked hence the SD.

What would those J**p people say if they knew that the Rover people were thinking of getting J**ps. You people suck! Theyre ugly, theyre cheap and I'd rather push a rover than drive a J**p any day of the week... sure my disco may not be as practical, but everyone has a F'n J**p, theyre a dime a dozen! Why dont you people just go whine and cry on their forums so we can take more of their garbage, and then those of us who still love rovers can get along without yall

Sorry... I had to vent

I like it a lot too. The front bumper kind of reminds me of a H2 or H3 bumper. Oh and the quality of the soft top looks shitty. But I do like it.

Man, that thing is just butt ugly from my perspective.

BTW, the next time I start talking about buying any new vehicle just kick me, will ya?

Now I've got a 3 mile drive to work - can't hardly call it a "commute" - so fuel consumption isn't much of an issue ... kids are grown & gone ... Julie's D.D. is the 90 ... the old Disco just keeps going ... one day the 109 will be back on the road ... her old ('91) Protege w/ 40k miles is in great shape ... oh, and that Jeep is just about 98% plastic isnt' it?

By the time you buy the Jeep, fix the suspension, find the diesel one, put decent tires on if .. etc ... wouldn't you be happier rebuilding a 110 - or coiling a 109? Hell, at least the door tops would come off like they're supposed to ;)

Sorry Guys,

I finally caved. Dealer delivered it to my house on Friday. Don't worry, I still have a rover.

Nice rig - don't blame you at all - after all the folks at Land Rover have their heads so far up their rectums when it comes to what people want that it doesn't leave one with much of a choice. At least it isn't an H1,2,3 ;)

I changed my mind. I like the 4 door a lot. You did well. Enjoy it. My mom and dad are going to Moab with me in June. He is getting a 4door. Either a Rubicon or Sahara. So I may be able to tell you how it does.

I've thought long and hard and if I can swing it I may do the 4dr for a DD and tow vehicle behind the coach and leave the disco for trails only. ;)

Very nice choice. I love that color and of course the Rubi package is great!

Congrats.
