I love what Jeep is doing but here's my problem (and one of the reasons I got into LR): warranty/quality issues. Don't laugh at the first sentence.
I had a 1999 Cherokee Ltd with all of the bells/whistles. It only had 19k on it when I sold it. I went through 3 front ends all fixed under warranty. The front wheels would vibrate and wobble under braking regardless of speed. At higher speeds the steering wheel would shake nearly out of your hands. When I took it in for the 4th time they told me they were sorry but could not longer fix it under warranty as it is a "wear-n-tear" part. They told me I was a hard driver. A parts guy at the dealer told me that it was a factory defect but also stated he would deny ever speaking with me if I made a big deal out of it. Ironically, if I was such a hard driver why did my mother-in-law's GC have the same issue? Why did my college friend have such a problem? Why do other people have the same issues? Oh well, it made me totally hate the product. I took my Cherokee and placed it for sale in the paper and sold it a few days later. Had 3 discos since. I know sometimes you have to suck it up and take a chance again. I can't seem to do it. What to do...I'll think about it while I'm cleaning up the leaked oil outside!:banghead:

I don't know about the "jeep thing" either. But I like how it looks with a minor lift and 33" tires. 4dr and a warranty. they are a dime a dozen and so many are never taken off road even when modded. For some reason this thing is sticking with me. Who knows, maybe the feeling will pass:eek:

I like the 4-door rubi lifted with bigger shoes! I have seen a few 2-door wranglers with teeney tires and those big ass plastic fenders and they look god awful!!!!!!!

I still think the 4 doors Wranglers look strange and still like the two door, half-door softops with the inline 6. As a result the best choice is 1997-2006. If you want the 4 door, go drop a Hemi in it, there's a 4 door Hemi around these parts, with a Hemi sticker, but I think its custom, it sounds real nice.

If I only knew a former model with power and influence. Perhaps she would find me a good deal on a defender and deliver it to me.:D

good to hear from you!
