Got a couple keys ground to have as spares but I would really like to be able to use my keyless entry. Called dealership they said 288 for key 150 to program. Sound about right? Not sure if I am going to do it or not. Just wondering if I'm getting the big shaft or the LR dealership standard size shaft.

1 hour is standard issue for programming keys . Even if you want 5 keys programmed.

This was my experience at the dealership. I brought in my own keyfobs and they synced them to the vehicle and charged one hour labor. Money well spent.

really? cool if thats the case. I can just remember being on hold with techline for what seemed like hours while they tried to get a code off of that little code, and about half the time it didnt work.

Yes is it a D2

Nanocom is almost 600 bucks, I'm not going to spend that kind of cash to program my keyless entry. Shit, I think 388 is ridiculous enough.

Could I find a land rover key from a Land Rover scrapper and get that one synced? Or does it have to be a new unassigned number?

You pretty much need the barcode (new key) with Testbook.

The Nanocom is $416 without VAT plus shipping. That isn't much more than $388 and it does a whole lot more than program keys.

Wouldn't I still need to purchase a key with a new barcode?

I got a used key fob with the internal electronics and 6-digit code for less than $50. Bought it from Paul Grant.

Ordered a new fob case and key blank from Ebay for around $15.

Transferred the used fob electronics to the new key fob case. Got the key blank cut by a reputable keysmith for $7..

The Nanocom programming only took a few minutes. You are getting raped by the dealership if they are quoting $150 to program it. The Nanocom is worth it. The Nanocom has so many other features other than key programming. It is only a little over $400.

No. The Nanocom can program keys from the code on the sticker inside the fob.

Okay see my key is ghetto it had nothing inside when I bought it. I'll open it and look. I think it was cannibalized by the guy who sold the truck.

Which places can you purchase one from? They only allow bank transfers directly and my bank won't offer fraud protection on overseas purchases (small local credit union). Ebay is where I saw the one for $600 bucks.
