New kid w/ PICS

Howdy Ya'll. I've been poking around for a couple weeks here. I like what I see. Lots of good information.

I am new to this Land Rover stuff. My Father in law just passed away :( in November and my wife got everything being the only child and all. Well He's had His Discovery SE-7 since 2000. I've been in it alot but never driven it. It's nice. We are going to keep it. I know, kinda a sad way to get a LR. I wish we didn't get one this way but we did.

I'm not new to the world of forums. I have been a member of www.ifsja.org for quite some time and am pretty much a nut when it comes to Wagoneers. I love working on my own vehicles. I'm going to take the insurance of the 87 I drive now and rewire the whole thing and drive the Disco for now. These are the vehicles we have now

2004 Hyundai Sonota
1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
1998 Land Rover Discovery SE-7. Ooops! It's a 96.

I hope to learn lots from this site and meet new people.

Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Matt.

Hey Matt,
You're right, its no good to get a LR through inheritance, sorry to hear about your loss. But it could be worse, he could have been a pinto enthusiast and left you a garage full of pintos. :D

I love Oregon for it's forests. There are so many places to trail. Now I'm going to have to do it in the Disco. And don't laugh about the pinto. I grew up in a pinto and My father in law who so kindly gave me this disco had a pinto up until 1994 as a second car. Yikes!!

Well I'll see you all on the board. Is there a way to find out how many people are from Oregon on this board? It'd be cool to go wheelin sometime. Until than.

P.S. For those who need to know, The Jeep has a transplanted 401, blueprinted and machined 30 over with a custom rochester quadrajet and only 30k on it. It's nice. Eat your heart out 360's.

Matt, you can bring this issue with Kyle.

I'd take 360 over 401 any day. Oh wait... not yet two days ago I was walking my dog past my "Gross Polluter" Chero and thinking "wouldn't hurt to get a 3.9+ZF+LT230 in it..."
And my "significant other 4x4" is waiting for the transplant of two Range Rover axles.

P.M., you've got a bad habit.

I like that.

I fear that I'm catching your disease, though. I may need to put in a circular driveway soon...
