New LR3 Tire Carrier

Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before, but in the March 2006 issue of "Land Rover Monthly" there is a new product announcment that someone has made a rear tire carrier for the DIII/LR3:

ya i posted a link a while ao to that and the still plate protectors. I would really like to get that but it's around 1100.00 plus my dealership would probaly charge alot for labor

No kidding! It almost looks like it was supposed to be there all along. I still can't find a web site with info. It would be great to get an up-close picture of how it is mounted.

any concerns of a minor fender bender taking out the rear door?

I believe it is just mounted to the rear bumper or something right behind it. theirs a pic of that tire carrier with a Nitto terra grapler on the rim, so it will probaly hold the weight of an aftermarket tire. I'd be worried about some mom on her cell phone running into the back of me and the tire carrier falling off.

and take out the rear door, totally sucks then!! hate those fu_ckers who do all kinds of shit but pay attention and drive!

That's why I have a trailer hitch with a long tongue sticking out at the back. Helps minimize those slow speeds kissing. All bets are off if someone is barrelling down!

Had no idea you had to galvanize aluminum.

you do? I thought aluminum was rust proof and you could just have it plain.
