I have a buddy interested in buying a disco. I told him to register here to research some trucks. When he tried to register and it said that registration was disabled by the administrator. Anyone know anything about this? Is discoweb officially closed?

Shouldn't be. We just moved to a new server, though, and there may be bugs. I will check it out.

Shit, you're right. I'll have to dig further when I get back to civilization later in the week. Unless Axel or Ho get to it first.

Have him try again. Looks like new registrations were turned off. I must have missed this during the server migration.

Yea it was one of the worst discos I have seen. Rear door wouldn't open. Gas door was broken, the whole bottom was spray painted black. I literally pulled a chunk out of the frame with my hand it was so rusted. I did hear two classic lines from a shady used car dealer though. When I pointed out that the coolant resevoir was almost empty and I inquired as to where the coolant went he replied "don't worry about the coolant, I can add more coolant."
My all time favorite line came out when we were talking about the three amigos. He told me they were no big deal. I told him when they are on the car has no ABS. He replied "ABS, you don't need ABS. It is just a luxury item!"
We pretty much ran out of that place.

Well, I agree with him on the ABS, but I'd never sell a vehicle with such a fault. It's not only bad form, most people can't drive without it. Selling a car with malfunctioning braking systems also invites a lawsuit.

It's okay to paint a frame, so long as it's been thoroughly brushed and cleaned beforehand to eliminate any active rust. Too many people "fluff" them, though, in an effort to hide damage. The worst part is when they aren't careful about it, and get paint all over the damned undercarriage.

It's a shame when people let a car get that bad; especially a Land Rover. That's why people get the idea that they are unreliable pieces of shit. Owners don't take care of the damned things, and maintenance is critical on these outdated vehicles.

...As for the fuel door...

Mine never worked properly, so I removed it. It never made sense to me, anyway. Why should I open a door to open a cap?

Nobody is going to steal that shit, and even if they planned to, those doors can be pried open with a damned Popsicle stick.

Cheers,

Kennith

You didn't miss anything, Chris. The way registration emails are sent needs to be reconfigured, so I have suspended registration until that can be done. Just haven't had time to test it yet.

Ah, I forgot about that. Our servers are purposely blacklisted to discourage spammers from signing up for them just to spam. Fortunately, we have a service called Mailgun that can be used to send the emails. I'll look into it when I get settled next week.
