I got tired of the panels on my Disco not matching. Finally had something done about it.

The painter (Eric) did an excellent job and his attention to detail was amazing. You can't find the original color anywhere.

The color is less red than G4 Tangiers Orange.

Originally Coniston Green- still one of my favorites. Several of the panels had been repainted at different times, and after fading, few of them matched.

Damn, that is bright! Looks really good though.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? I'm think of doing a color change one of these days on my D2 but I'm worried about the all of the cracks and crevices not getting sprayed (though my truck is black so it should be too bad). Was your painter able to get all of the jambs?

Yeah, got all of the jambs, behind the headlights, everywhere. You can pick at gaskets and not find the original color. He replaced the window gaskets on the rear side and back glass. He even masked the decals inside the gas cap door.

It took right at 3 weeks. It was about $3000. That included new gaskets and raised decals.

I have to admit that is very nicely done. If I could spend $3000 and have mine repainted the original color (Roman Bronze) I think I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Too bad I've got repairs to pay for first!

Wow, that's great ... crap, just as I'm typing that I didn't intend the Tony the tiger pun ...

If mine wasn't oxidizing away, it might be worth spending the $$ rather than buying a new(er) vehicle.

I'm going to have to start shopping the dry southwest for a replacement before too long ... or start the Defender re-body :)

Looks Fantastic!

The engine bay is just as nice as everything else.

It's seems every time I stop for gas, somebody has questions to ask about it.

We were discussing buying a used Disco 2, but since I like the way this one is set up, we decided to paint and keep her. I also know my Disco is worth more to me than on the brutal used market. Also, none of the accessories switch over and so forth...

This is the 4th Disco that I've seen Eric paint. They've all turned out exceptional.

I can agree with you there! Every time something new breaks in my DI I think how nice it would be to have an 04, yet then I decide that I can't part with her, and my backpack rack wouldn't fit, and I don't really like the long rear end of the 04, etc. For the payment on a new(er) vehicle, I can keep pouring parts into mine and maybe paint it and make it as clean as it was when I bought it.
