The bot that is posting in "Auto News" has put 293 articles in there since last night.

Normally when I visit a forum, I click on 'New Posts" to catch up with latest activity. That bot is spamming so fast it's making the New Posts feature worthless.

It's still spammy wading through the 'Auto News" to find Disco threads by using the "New Posts" button if you only check the site once a day. Ah well.

Pay attention to the categories on the right. Just pass over the ones for auto news.

Or keep pissing and moaning about the free site with no ads that has a ton of useful information going back a decade.

I have to agree on the yuck factor. It's actually worse than sites that advertise, at least all those I can block so I never see them.

As with anything new, some people like it, others don't. That's life. The Automotive news section is here to stay, though. The search criteria will probably be fine tuned along the way to narrow the scope of what's being picked up as we get some statistics on which articles are being read and which are being skipped, but the section is not going away.

I'm not really suggesting it go away. Even though 99.9% of automotive news holds no interest for me I know it does for others and the majority probably likes it (even though one can set up their own browser feeds so I don't see the point anyway, on a brand specific forum). However, excluding the Automotive News section from the new posts search would be nice. At least if there's really going to be hundreds of new ones a day. So far it hasn't been too bad other than the first day. Then again it's been the weekend and I've been able to visit the site more than once a day.
Time will tell.

It's not going to be houndreds a day, I forgot to include the "SARCASM" tag on that post. I'm guessing the average will be somewhere around 10-20 at the most. When a new feed gets added, all posts available in the feed gets picked up, after that only new ones published after the initial load.

Don't know if there is a way to exclude these from the 'New Posts' search, but if there is and we exclude them it will just be a matter of time before someone complains about them not being included.

Ah, I wasn't sure.

I know some BBS software can exclude sections, but I don't remember what DWeb is running. And yeah, you're probably right about complaints that they aren't included.

Do you mean so that section is excluded from the new posts search?
If so, I think my feelings are clear. Other's are pretty much unknown, so how about a poll for a week?

Please vote only if you use the "new posts" feature
- I like Automotive News included in the New Posts results
- I don't like Automotive News included in the New Posts results

I thought about doing one, but don't know for sure if that's what you meant.
