New Range Rover + Offroad = Wicked cool VIDEO!!

well I think it is, anyway. :p

This is just a fun little video we did at a dealer event at Paragon Adventure Park, PA on the 19th of March.

Steve from LRM was there, as was one of the Camel Trophy instructors. And of course, Alyssa was there from Land Rover Main Line.

Lots of nice trucks (modified D2's, RR Sports, LR3's) but one stood out in particular ....

(Hope you like how this turned out Alyssa!)

Classy video.

Note the sedate driving and camera management. Very Range Rover.

While it's not exactly a hard core wheeling video, it is interesting. The music is cool, the imagery is cool, and the vehicle is cool.

Too bad you had to have that orange flag up there. No biggie when wheeling, but it sort of keeps the video's effect grounded. That last shot with the heavy sky was wonderful. I loved the bleakness of it.

I liked the new Range Rover, and thought it was a good fit when it was released. It just wasn't me. Now, when I first laid eyes on the sport, I was overwhealmed with the coolness. It is definately a vehicle for me, I like it from every angle. Maby someday...

There were a few moments in the video that hinted of a harsh coldness of design, which is very present in the two new Range Rovers, and is one of the things I find appealing about them. The LR3 is a little too "friendly" for my tastes, from a design point of view. Very thoughtful and professional imagery. You should send that to Land Rover.

I am sure someone there would catch the hint of brand image you snuck in there.

Cheers,

Kennith

I've gotten mud on the inside of my windshield, and all over the interior (at MAR). I'm not planning on breaking anything... that shouldn't be a goal!! It's a nice car, my only transportation, and body damage just doesn't look cool on a new Range Rover...
The second trail I took was not an easy trail. They made me go on the bunny trail the first half of the day. I got fed up and went in the advanced group the 2nd half. I didn't get stuck or stopped anywhere, and I can't say the same for some of the other very modified trucks that were with us. Well, I did get stopped, but that was at the request of the crowd... I had to go over the 3 wheel part over and over again because everyone wanted to watch it.

Nice. Alyssa, are you and Ron coming down to W&L for Alumni Weekend in May?

Sorry, David, sore subject. I will not be attending. I don't know Ron's plans, but I doubt he'll attend either. (Ron and I have gotten divorced)

I'm gonna go ahead and say you shouldnt have to break or dent anything. If you try an obstacle 10 times and dont break anything and some guy does it the first time but breaks tons of shit, you're a better 4wheeler than the other guy. You shouldn't want to break anything ever.

The video was cool. I think it could have maybe done without some of the mud puddles and a few of the driving down trail scenes from an editing viewpoint as the video was a tad bit long for my tastes and some parts could be easily eliminated without detracting from the video. Real good job on it though.

i have been wheeling with jeeps too long. i dont tend to break anything, but everyone that ever goes with me always seem to. trust me the last thing i need to do is to break something, college students have no $$$

Agreed. We're actually working on a shorter version. We thought we'd just get it up for now as it is still good, and complete. We were also thinking it might have been that we've seen it so much that we think it's long, but others might not think so. So I guess it wasn't just us!

It was there in 2005, and I'm planning on being there for 2006. I've been to MAR yearly since 1999, one month after I bought my first Rover. I missed 2004, but I was at Land Rover training in Canada, so I was still wheeling...

So Alyssa, how does one go about becoming a bad ass LR Master Sales Guide???

Well, I've been successful because I am completely honest with people, I actually know my product, I believe in my product, I get along with my clients, I keep my word, I always try to do the right thing, I really listen to people, I follow up when I say I will, and I'm very, very particular. I make sure everything is done before the client even knows something needs to be done. I make sure things are meticulously clean, and if they aren't I clean it. I think about possible problems, and come up with solutions ahead of time, so if the problem arises, I already have an answer. If a customer has a problem after the sale, I'm there to help. I actually care about my customers and their lives. I try to understand what a client really wants, and how a Land Rover would help their life or address their needs. I'm not pushy, and I only talk about Land Rovers as much as the client directs me to. With some customers, I hardly ever talk about the car. We talk about real estate, traveling, yoga, shopping, other things. I'm always pro-actively reassessing my current customer's finance/lease situation to see if a new program could suit them better, maybe saving them money & getting them into a newer car. I've managed to gain such a loyal customer base that I rarely talk to new walk in customers. I'm so busy with my own customers, or referrals from my customers, that I don't have time for much else. Basically, I'm not an idiot, and I actually DO my job.

I'm a Master's Guild member because I had a combination of the highest sales and customer satisfaction, high test scores, years in position, training experience, recommendation from my market manager, and I had one of the highest scores in the Master's Guild Competition (which was REALLY tough!).
