So why would LR advertise that their trucks have "The Highest Resale Value For The Past Four Years!"

It seems as though LR expects you to get rid of it. Maybe an investment? Just seems sort of stupid.

This must be the new TaTa stuff. Dumb.

Honda has been pumping the retained value thought in the media. I think they are just jumping on the bandwagon.

Think about it, would you shell out $70k+ for a truck that was going to depreciate by 50% in four years?

Sure would increase the cost per mile calculations.

Also the used market depends on retained value. Car dealers make more profit selling used cars than new ones.

With pressure on every car dealer in the world. I don't think it is a dumb ad after all.

Look at how much a well maintained rust free 97 SW NAS D90 will fetch... That's one of my retirement schemes....

I saw that this morning. I am pretty sure that they said the highest "expected" resale value, whatever the f that means...

It means expect in one hand, shit in the other, see which one fills up first.

I'm still waiting for my 'Re-distribution Check' from Uncle Obama. Maybe then I can pick up a NAS 110.

highest resale value? You kidding me? I bought my LR3, which was 2 years old for less than half the sticker price... thats why I love LR, they depreciate a ton so you can pick them up cheap.

Shhhhh

We need the folks out there to think that their new LRs will keep their value so they will buy them. Otherwise our supply of cheap trail rigs will dry up. Just because we know better doesn't mean that we need to tell the mall crawlers about it.

Wow, they really said "expected"? Do they really think people are that stupid?

Don't answer that.
