I am about to fab up my own spacers to help even out my suspension. It leans a little to one side and I am sure the springs have sagged a bit. it is a 2" RTE lift. I will be making 1.5" spacers. On the front, do the spacers need one side to be flat to fit under the spring seat. In all the marketed stuff (AB, RTE, Toddco) they all have flat sides. If I keep them round will they fit. Here is a pic of what I am talking about. http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/SMLR107.cfm

Also is 4" aluminum stock the correct diameter?

Flat on the side, not too sure about that, my is a DI, and my spacer are round.

And make sure the hole in the middle allow the shock to pass through, otherwise you need a plate on top of the spacer to hold the shocks.

Yeah, you are right, the shocks bottom mount are different between DI and DII.
My question is will the shocks pass through the hole on the spring mount? If so, the hole in the spacer just need to be big enough for the shock to pass through.

ok cool! and since our shocks (D2) mount differently than a d1 my shock will mount on top of the spacer correct?

I'm putting in 1.5" spacers from Toddco to fix the sag in my OMe springs.

The front are rounded on one side and rears are not. I'm putting them in this weekend. So when I get under there I'll see if it matters.

Pretty much. You won't lose any shock travel with the spacers.

One side does need to be flat and you need to cut out a hole in the center. I made my own and used the the spring seat for a template for all the cuts. It's easy, just not as easy as the rears(2 holes). Good luck.

Does anybody have a diagram for what the front spring perch on a D2 is like. I need to know where to make the notch in the spacer. I'm contemplating making a 1" spacer to compensate for my winch/bumper. Also what is the size of the hardware?
