New timing chain on old gears

I've handled all the allmakes internal stuff. Crank gear is fine. Cam gear is garbage. If oem is the same then you're screwed. Zack should be able to open two boxes and see if they are.

That would be nice if someone could compare side by side. I would hate to spend several hundred on a genuine gear just to get it in my hand and discover it's the same poor quality as the part I could have bought for twenty.

Does a timing chain have a front and a back or is it directional? I found a genuine cam gear for $28, a genuine crank gear for $29 and a genuine chain for $40, so as far as these parts go the genuine were not as expensive as I had thought. As far as the quality of the cam gear it is genuine but like somebody said it's probably the same as the cheap ones now and probably the same as allmakes? I haven't tried it on yet so hope it's a good fit without having to do and finishing.. It doesn't look as good of quality as the one I took off. But oh well, at least it's not worn.
