I recently bought a 96 Disco w/ 110k miles on it. It runs fine but I am getting the Check Engine Light. I have checked it with an OBD Reader and got to faults, P1317: ABS Rough Road line low fualt and P0430: Catalyst efficency below threshold (bank 2). I also have the SRS light showing.

I am assuming that the P0430 means that i have to replace the Cats, but the P1317 is throwing me for a loop. Also is there a way i can turn off the SRS light, Can anybody help me out?

Given the cost of new cats I would be inclined to change out an oxygen sensor first. There are sensors before and after each cat, the ecu compares the upstream and downstream values on each side to determine how well the cats are working. It throws that code when the cat does not seem to be working well. But the problem could be a bad cat or a bad sensor. I would try swapping your existing sensors from left to right and see if the code follows. If it does then it is likely a sensor issue, if it does not then it is likely a cat issue.

Search here and read up on ABS, there is a lot of discussion in older threads. You can either try to fix it or disable it. I chose the latter and so do a lot of others.
