Just curious what the people who have upgraded from a Series diesel 2.25 or 2.5 Litre to a 200Tdi have paid for the engine, and if they have any good leads? I hear that they are getting harder to find now a days.

I was looking at some of the newer GM commercial vehicles with Isuzu diesel engines in them, and your thoughts? I was thinking about this Isuzu engine and your thoughts. I have not looked into the actual fitting, or size yet, but just wanted some thoughts and opinions :)

Experiences, knowledge and input would be appreciated :) Thank you very much :)

That Isuzu looks nice but is way too much motor for a series unless you replace the entire driveline from engine to axle.

The isuzu 4bd1 was fitted as standard to some austalian spec stage ones. It found its way into later trucks too. Its only 3.9L though. 5.2 is a BIG 4 cyl.

So would that engine be better suited for a Discovery instead?

I think my 2.25 diesel fuel distributor pump needs a MAJOR servicing... smoking all the time... just had the glow plugs replaced, new fuel filter, engine cleaned inside and out, and the fuel injectors reconditioned... last thing is the pump.

Not sure if I would rather invest in a bigger engine with a little more "ooomph!" like the 200tdi for the Series, or shell out the $2,000 I was quoted for the pump being cleaned and rebuilt. I do understand modifications are required for the 200tdi, and it requires moving the grill forward, but it would be a nice improvement.

I did run into someone locally who has an isuzu diesel in their D110, but are having issues getting parts (european engine) if I remember correctly. I was just curious on thoughts for that engine :)

Thank you :bigok:

I guess the hunt for a 200tdi begins now ;)

Get another quote on the pump, that is rediculous.
