It's apparently obvious that Sagan's statement does not reference Christianity, since there is ample historical, first hand (as in Paul's), and natural evidence for it. I'm guessing nobody here viewed the Dawkins/Lennox debate... It's a good one - might be worth the time.

Where is Sagan, nowadays?

I was getting ready to go there. There is a small handful of references written years after when we understand him to have died but they are no eyewitness accounts outside of scripture that I am aware of.

Realdeal, I challenge you to take on a more global view. There are millions of hysterically religious people out there that are 100% convinced that you are wrong. Many of them are willing to blow themselves up to prove it. If you think what they believe is wrong then you and I have something in common.

Just because billions of people believe something does not make it true.

Carl Sagan died in 1996. Not sure why you asked?

Take it as a side note if you want: The Bible says this will happen. There is nothing to debate. It's only a matter of sitting and watching to see if it happens or not.

where are you referring to?

Ben how is the relevant in what we as Christians are called to do. I can see this discusion coming up in maybe a group of peers with like beliefs but you throw it out there and everyone just gets wound up and points fingers at each other. This is not the example that Christ wanted us to show the world in fact in almost aludes to being like the pharisees in the time that Christ walked the earth. Let me show you how religous I can be with my biblical knowledge... Just my two cents.

Edit: and to add onto Jesus would get RTE springs for his rover...

Are you asking me to explain why I post about this topic? Just because. I'm just drawing attention to some things that have been talked about for many, many years, which seem to be now happening. Don't misunderstand though, it has nothing to do with "salvation" or really even politics -- but I get where that may come into the discussion.

I'm really not too sure what all the other yapping is about here. I'm simply posting an observation. Take it as you will. I guess you could say I'm trying to show "proof" of something, but it's probably more like those "Monster Quest" shows on the History channel -- after all is said and done, you still have to decide to believe it or not.

Revelations draws a picture of a world where there is a single ruler, the anti-Christ, and part of that world is a monetary system which is also centralized.

Anyone who reads this just has to take it with a grain of salt that this is a spiritual belief system that I buy into. No matter how much evidence is put forth from within, or from outside of the Bible, it still comes down to a matter of faith. Therefore, anything I post along these lines is actually just because I find it interesting.

I don't need to prove shit to anyone. I'm merely pointing out how fucking ludicrous is it for someone who beleives in one faith that's totally unproven to knock somoene else's faith that's totally unproven.
