Nidal Hasan was an advisor to Obama's Transition Team

All this PTSD bs about him, but the dude has not seen any patients since 2007. He was a researcher and then transferred to Ft. Hood in May. Even the psychiatrists that do see patients returning from a combat zone, have not substantiated claims to getting PTSD themselves. Derka derka.

I would hardly call an "event participant" an advisor to a transition team that convened over a 9 month period.

from other people I've talked to:

>In actuality, he RSVPd to a few of the open forums on the transition 6 months before the election
> some of the events were open to any interested party
> he RSVPd a couple of them
> that's why he's on the list
> it's not even known if he showed up
>They say he had very few appointments with patients while at ft. hood - maybe he was signing up for conferences just to get out of work

Bigger question is do we award purple hearts to the dead and injured? To do so would mean they were in a combat zone, and Hasan was an enemy combatant (even a terrorist). Does the Obama Administration want to admit we were attacked on American soil?
A trickier part of that: if it is ruled a combat zone, all personnel on base will be awarded a combat ribbon, and any benefits that go with it. Although something like 2/3rds of the returning or departing Army personnel will have qualified from time in Iraq, declaring it a combat zone means all personnel stationed on Ft Hood now qualify.
Now without a bonafide combat injury, how many of these injured soldiers will be disqualified from needed medical care?

Yes he is, but will our own government admit that terrorists infiltrated our own army and killed from within? This is past a disgruntled solder hurling a grenade into the tent of his commanding officers. This is an attack by our 'enemy', trained in our own combat camps. It is far worse than an American citizen joining the enemy and training in their camps. It makes it hard for the troops and military command to trust others of color or different religious backgrounds.

Okay I see where you are coming from. I whole heartedly agree. The Army F'd up plain and simple. And yes they should admit this. It really hurts me personally after spending 27 years in the military. I am not naive as this shit does exist. What bothers me is that he should have been outed and caught before this tragedy happened. There have always been bad apples to appear within our ranks but this goes beyond anything I ever experienced in my time in the "war". There have always been the occasional gang banger, thug etc get through the turnstiles but for God's sake this is the worst and unfortunately a serious eye opener. I pray the PC police see this for what it is. There are no excuses for this. We are only beginning to see the fanatical freaks that are homegrown solo terrorists. The one thing I'd like to leave this conversation with is that the vast majority of folks in today's military are good folks. The ranks are not unlike the civilian world but I assure you and all reading this that the rank and file are upstanding folks that above and beyond believe in what they are doing for their country. It is but a few that stain the reputations of all those that live up to the call of duty.

Cheers,

Mike

My take....it seems people were on to him, but not necessarily people who could dump him out of the army. I'm thinking what motivated the attack is he got wise to this and decided to go out with a big bang and be a martyr.

Yep the CID should have gotten his ass a long time ago. Usually those kinds of things are brought to the attention of CID or in AF the OSI who undercover work to gather info and bring it to the commanders for them to take care of it, but for the life of me I cannot figure this one out. PC is the only thing that I keep coming up with but incompetence has to be part of it too.

They would first need to admit that a terrorist infiltrated the office of the president:banghead: :banghead:
