I just bought a 1999 DII. The dealer that I am purchasing the truck from is putting on new tires of my choice, the ones on the truck are worn out. It has the 18" wheels on it an I am trying to figure out if I should go with the Nitto Terra Grapplers or the Michelin 4x4 XPC. Cost is not an option. I am thinking that I maybe should go with the XPC since the dealer is footing the bill. I have to special order the XPC and the Nitto are in stock at places. Any suggestions. I do plan on doing some basic off roading at some time.

I know of several people that run the Nitto's and love them. I you plan on mild off roading either would probably do fine but the Nitto's would allow for a little more adventure. I say go with the Nitto's.

Here in Texas we don't get much snow but the XPC's I had on my truck were good in the rain and out on mild trails. As they got more worn they did get hard, slick and very loud. I personally bought some BFG A/T ko's but would like some Nitto's for another truck. Any way just my thoughts and HTH.

XPC's great on the highway but thats about all I liked them for. I switched to the BFG A/T KO and have been very happy

tires...

Youre putting these on the 18" wheels right?

kind of a waste to go with a heavy offroad tire.

I have Scorpion AT's and I couldnt be happier. For the limited off roading it does with the 18's on it, (I have 16's for the good stuff...) they are excellent, and plenty quiet on the highway.

I realize you didnt list them in the title, I just thought I'd mention it...
