I can not believe that the Dakar Rally is not being televised in the US! Last year OLN had pretty good coverage. I searched OLN and SPEED and can't find it anywhere. And wouldn't you know it - an American - Robby Gordon- is currently in the lead. I sure would like to see some footage of him in the new Race Touareg.

cheers,

Ted

They had about 10 min of coverage last night on Speed's Racing news program then switched to something else. The 10 min that they showed was pretty cool, its too bad they arnt showing more of it

I'll have to see if anyone in my family has been taping it - and get them to send me over the tapes :)

Too few Dakar in france too.

Same story here in France where no Dakar images are broadcasted during daytime on main chanels.

30 seconds in the evening news, and a 30 minutes show late in the evening.

I guess, that the Dakar is also a victim of ecolointegrists that see devil in every car competition. Why show polluting vehicules on screens as it's not fashion anymore. That's also one of the reasons why the race doesn't strat anymore from France....

I remember in the 80's - 90's where we had many hours on TV about spectacular pictures of Cars and trucks.... now that over...

Well, NASCAR gets a shitload of TV time, so I don't think that half-baked environazi logic applies here. How about the obvious...Nobody Cares?

I'm a WRC nut, and quite frankly I just have to admit to myself that I'm in the minority, and 30 minutes of late night coverage is what I'm going to get. At least as long as superstar heavyweights like John Force are dominating NHRA Funnycar!
