I'm working on a friends d2. Engine does turn over. no spark. no fuel pump. I can't communicate with the ECU. I CAN communicate with the BCU and other computers. Just not the ECU. M and S lights are flashing. I have checked harnesses and everything seems to be fine. Any ideas? I have tried everything I can think of.

Possibly a bad crank position sensor. Which diagnostic tool are you using on the Disco?
Ensure you have a fully charged battery with good volts and amps regarding the flashing M&S lights.

Already replaced the crank position sensor. I have tried to use my iLand tool and my Autel tool and neither will communicate with the ECU. I can't even pull basic fault codes. However, both will communicate with the BCU....

Do you have a Disco 2 RAVE manual? Use the RAVE electrical diagrams to pin point which fuses (F29 if I remember correctly) and relays to check.
Next, remove all the connectors to the ECU and check the pins for corrosion.
