No movement

I have a 2000 range Rover who runs great then yesterday afternoon I started the car then switch the gear to drive step on the gas, the beast would not even move. I tried to move to park no movement. The dashboard have a "Gearbox Fault" Message. Any input is highly appreciated.

Does it feel like it is in neutral? Your XYZ switch may be bad. Do you have the RAVE cd or a shop manual?

I was able to shift gears, the car would start but when I rev up the tach does not even move and the car as well.
