It's a rover. 'Nuff said.

OK...how steep is the incline?
Are you shifting down to a lower gear with more torque?

I have the same question as stevenmd, what is the incline and elevation? That big V8 starts gasping for air pretty quick going up some of the mountain passes around here. Teton Pass is about 8,200 ft with 10% grade and I have the accelerator almost pinned to the floor just to keep forward momentum...

What gear are you in?In the mountains I use D till I slow down throw it into third and keep on going it's no sports car but it's alittle better in third.

I use the lower gearing, too (you almost have to going downhill). Even with "Sport" mode and the gearshift in 2, keeping around 40 mph is a lot of work.

Remember, too, that those gears don't work necessarily like a manual transmission (unless the "Manual" mode is selected in Lo). That number is the highest gear the truck will shift into. So if you are already in 3rd gear, dropping to "3" on the gearshift ain't gonna help much.

As other stated, they generally are under powered. if have noticed a sudden lost of power, you may have a dirty air filter, you may
have a restriction in your exhaust, cat converts may be bad. Are you sure a cylinders are firing? Is your check engine light on ?

What kind of Discos are you people driving? Going up a grade I floor it, the beast shifts down to 3rd after a second or two, and I'm passing everyone up the slope. People frequently try to race me and can't keep up.

Granted, I have the forced-air from the snorkel, and I use Bosch +4 platinum spark plugs - but you make these things sound like push-carts or something.

That's because they are on foot.

Unless your forced air comes in the form of a supercharger, that snorkel and your <cough, cough> Bosch +4's ain't gonna give you any noticeable help up a steep incline. Maybe your last vehicle was an old VW bus, but compared to just about anything with a similar engine displacement the Disco is a push-cart.

Which of the flat plains states are you from? I agree with the others any long gradual or steep short grades and I'm in the slow or truck lanes trying to keep it at 60MPH. Add the weight of a bull bar bumper, winch, rocksliders, recovery gear, etc, etc and now rack for even more drag and yeah they're slow.:(

I'm amazed it even runs. Bosch +4 platinum

I gather many of you are not fans of the Bosch +4's. Do you mind if I ask what you recomend? What are your thoughts on the MAGNECOR spark plug wires ?
