Howdy,

I recently bought my first disco an '03. I my learning about it and its ways i have discovered that i do not have the infamously leaky throttle body heater. Its just not there. Watching a few videos about changing it and chasing down coolant leaks is where is started to wonder.
Will this effect performance or mileage or anything else?

Thanks for your reply.

Rumor is the TB will freeze up in winter weather causing runaway RPMs when it sticks. It's easy enough to install. You'll probably see a hose running from the front of the intake manifold (behind the ac compressor) going to the overflow bottle or both of these nipples were blocked off.

Stop driving it ASAP, it's going to explode, and fall apart without that perfectly designed Throttle Body Heater Plate......

All of my D2's are minus that POS and zero issues on a single one of them. Choice is yours, but it was removed before you bought it, for how long who knows, and it's still operating properly.

I think that under a perfect storm of humidity cold and high air flow thru the ventury effect of the throttle can cause it to freeze up. I think in the south you guys could get away with it. Get up into Indiana and you could have some problems. I'm as far north as you can go in Illinois, no way I would try that.
