I hopefully found the culprit front right caliper has a little play in it, going to tighten it up and see if that cures my noise.

Did you figure out your noise? I have a similar one but it sounds more like a jack hammer. :ack:
Jacked it up and disengaged the transfer case. Its either the front diff or the universal joint on the front DS. I greased the zerk fitting last night on the front DS and its still making the noise. Did a search and found a bunch of folks eventually determining it was a spider gear.
Funny thing about the burn, I have a red spot on my head the size of a nickel from bumping into one of the pipes on my creeper. If anyone asks, it was a headbutt wound.
