They can tune it higher I think. It's kind of an interesting valve train. The cam lobe mechanically opens the valves. So that's the only two constants. The time the valve starts to open and the lift. Once the valve is open it is held open with oils pressure as long as it wants it. Way longer than you could keep it open with the cam lobe.
