Yesterday tring to go to work, I hop in my rover and I have a dim light and the engine won't start. I checked the cables and they were fine, checked the batt voltage and it was fine. The day before I had to jump start my girlfriends car so I thought that I drained the battery and my alt. didn't charge it back up but... After reading up on the subject yesterday while at work, I read a situation like mine and the alarm light being solid. When I got home last night, I checked Voltage and had 12.4 between the + and -. I disconnected the neg and then reconnected it. Tried to start and nothing and noticed a solid red light on the alarm light. I then tried the lock, unlock on my remote and got nothing. I closed all the doors, held the under hood switch down and then played with the unlock lock again. This time after a few tries the car locked and got the flasher blinking. I then tried starting the rover again and it started. I checked the voltage with no accessories on and had 14.4. I turned on all accessories, headlights, stereo, rear defroster, fog lamps, and heater and had 14.2 volts so I am assuming that the alt is fine. Do you know what would cause this. Could my remote battery be low and it's not sending the right signal and put my car into imobilization mode???
