My passenger seat back refuses to go forward. Doing some searching led me to the "pull the cable and insert into drill" method. So I pulled the cable out of the motor and started with the drill. Looked to be moving ever so slowly and then stopped. The cable runs from the motor, under the seat and up into the back of the chair.

You can pull out the interior piece of the cable, which has square plugs on either end (no idea the name). When reinserted it just spins and spins. I test with a cable from another motor and when that interior cable is removed and reinserted it does not spin freely.

So did I bust a gear in the seat back? This fixable or does my passenger have to lay down forever now?

probably not same as my D2 but mine was stuck and I even replaced the motor to find that it just needed a lot of oil on the hinge mechanism. As I operated the motor I would pull the seat in that direction so the fuse would not blow. Once it worked past the rust a few times all was good.
