this deal of stopping the missles defence system is in exchange for no retaliation when Iran gets spanked.

the US cant afford the missle defence system right now anyways.

The bush missile defense system (the one that cost 250Billion) wasn't even functional.

It was a non functioning operation again's a non functioning long range missile that Iran doesn't even have. Yea, gee... Let's keep doing that.

Do you ever think about tomorrow? Some time down the road Iran will have a functioning long range missile. Takes time for us to install this, ummm....do you think we should start building it now so that by the time Iran has a functioning long range missile that we'll have our missiles ready? Or, should we just wait until they blow the fuck out of Berlin or someplace that then start building one after it's too late? Let's also forget the fact that Putin has long and short range missiles now doubt aimed at Western Europe, and that he's been flexing his muscles lately, and that by Obama stopping this project that Putin just made him his bitch. Why do you think Putin got all upset about this? Becuase it can stop his BS too? Or he just doesn't want missiles litering the landscape?

Do you not understand that our interceptor missiles haven't been tested. The Bush administration spent billions and billions of dollars of OUR money putting a PLAY missile into place that doesn't even fucking work. It's several years over timeline and way the fuck over budget.

Do you not understand that the interceptor missiles CAN"T shoot down the short and mid range missiles that Iran is pumping out NOW? Dumping money into a program that doesn't work to defend against a missile that doesn't exist is how you want to roll? You're a fucking tool bag.

Ben, I don't really know this shit, but IIRC the system that you mentioned is the interceptor of ICBM, not short-range stuff. I may be mistaken, but - IIRC again - the short-range intercepting systems are up and functioning.
If that is correct, Obama's step is exactly what jhmover described.

Exactly. The interceptor is the long range shit that doesn't even work and was shut down. It was shut down because the missiles that it's supposed to be shooting down don't even exist. The short range-mid range systems are what is being moved forward because those missiles DO exist.
