Hello Discoweb, I havent been on for many years. This site helped me with many issues and learning rover knowledge. Ive had a 97 d1, 2000 d2 and now 2004 d2.

Recently the 2004 d2 with 98k on it had been running a little rough and then began throwing intermittent codes p0150 , p0004 and p1100 . I remember learning on here to start cheap so I bought a new gas cap, cause mine would loosen up every once in a while. Also bought MAF cleaner, it was brown, not clean metal at all, p1100 was intermittent maf . The engine stumble was still there and i was very close to ordering a new o2 sensor, from the p0150 code, error on sensor 1, bank 2.
Then checked to air filter, that was in horrible shape, no direct sun light getting through at all. I put a new air filter in and its been a few weeks, no engine stumble, much easier idle and start, overall is running easier and no codes.

I am not a tech or mechanic but Wanted to share this experience in hopes it will help and help us think that because a sensor throws a code...its not broken, its sensing something isnt right. SO clogged air filter, dirty maf made bad air fuel ratio and on the exhaust end of the motor the sensor said this aint right.

So even though we are all geniuses on this here inter web, we gotta think and start small instead of throw money at it.

thanks!

Mark

Check to make sure the air box lid isn't broken. They usually break where it clips to the mass air flow meter, which allows unfiltered air to contaminate the MAFs.
