been following this on LRO....as of today you can now edit your suspension:

press "D" to dump all your acc. to do the RTI ramp

I found optimal settings for articulation to be:

suspension stiffness= .0025
wheel backspacing= .0800
suspension lift= .2
spring inset= 1.5

optimal plain fun settings for regular driving:

suspension stiffness= .001
wheel backspacing= .0800
suspension lift= .200
spring inset= 5.00

My best RTI rating so far is 1783.006 (without super altering height or offset).....unfortunatly I got stuck on the ramp before I got a good screenshot, but....I did get one..(not posted).

Best I could do period is 1930.407.

This is starting to really make the rounds now. :D I hope my bandwidth can handle it... I hope all of you enjoy the game, and please let me know if there are any additions / improvements you think are needed.

Actually, when you download the full game (.zip) I have it log to files. If you are experiencing an error, it will probably be in one of these two files:

out.txt
err.txt

If it isn't, give Bri's suggestion a try.

Oh yeah, I also just added an RTI game type. Start flexing!

You are a very good person. I have actually been waiting for a game like this to come up. You should head up LRNA.

I would suggest a slightly smoother throttle, and a little less bounce -- I did learn to use the #5 on the keyboard to slow it down. It is a lot of fun otherwise. My 3 year old just played it for an hour.

By the way you guys, I found that actually following the trails is the best part of it. You get the most articulation and realistic challenges.

Oh, I thought of something, does different terrain have different scales of traction? Mud, gravel, dirt, etc...

Could not get what Josh did, i only played with the RTI a couple of times.

Awesome game.. good work!

my only suggestion is a reset button.. that plops your truck up right at the begining of the map perhaps.. puts all your gear back on it too perhaps..

Try making the backspacing huge.....and raise it a bit with spring inset like 1.2.....

thats how I got the near 2k RTI.....I would consider it cheating though.....unrealistic...

Been there done that. LOL.

If you could only change your tire size too.

To all you MacOs folks:
I apologize for lack of support. Working on a fix. It has to do with the physics native libraries failing to load. I should have time tomorrow to test on a few Macs, so hopefully I will have a resolution soon.

If you are having problems running, please post (or pm me) your system specs (cpu, ram, graphics card, java version) and any stack traces (error logs) you might have from attempting to run the game.

I would suggest everyone start using the webstart version instead of downloading the zip, because I may be removing that in the near future.

Hehe. I appreciate the vote of confidence. If I did, we'd be able to buy new Defenders over here :p

Not yet, but its coming. Probably will get done when I add support for open/locked diffs (right now the drivetrain kind of acts like its full of limited slip diffs)

Just started working on that this evening :)
Here is a teaser for you:

Really glad to see that everyone is enjoying this so much! :D
