What sort of levels of oil consumption do you guys have. I'm particularly interested in DiscoII comments.

Dry as can be! Maybe it is empty?

only on my driveway run 3000 miles did not need to tip it up yet, by the way i own a Disco 1 1995 300tdi yes its a Diesel , but that very common here in the netherlands

Oil Consumption

I have an 2001 D2, been using about 1 quart every 2,000 miles since new.

'97 D1 with over 100k on the clock, not using any noticable amount of oil between changes.

'99 D2 and use less than 1qt every 3k miles. No oil on the driveway but always have the wet look under the engine with a few drops that look like they'll fall any minute but don't.

'03 Disco II, 10,000+ miles, about 1 1/2 quarts, mostly in the first 4,000 miles. Now hardly any oil consumption.

96 Disco I with 102k. I have synthetic oil and I go through about 1 quart every 4000 miles or so. I see a drop every few days or so in the driveway.

thanks for the responses. I put a half a quart in before a recent trip to ATL, then last week another half. so that would make my consumption about a quart every oil change. Seems high, especially compared to my last Toyota, but I was expecting that, what with the DII motor coming straight from the '66 Skylark!

My 01 D2 really does not consume any between changes. I pressure wash the undercarriage about every 2 weeks or so and I can usually see a faint wetness but never any drops before I wash.

127K, no oil leaks or usage

I've got 127K miles on a '97 D1, no oil leaks and uses no oil between changes (3.5K miles).

I have a 96 D1,93k miles. Few drips in garage, does not need any oil between changes.(every 3K with dino oil)

Hmmm lets see, unless you own a 2003 with a 4.6 it has the same motor just different electrics.
