This is a strange question but when I check the oil on my '97 Disco, stick is on the drivers side. Here is the strange part, if the figure on the top of the stick is rightside up (looking at it from the drivers side fender) I get one oil reading. If I put it back in, figure upside down I get another reading. What way is it supposed to be? Right now upside down I read about 1/4 qt. low, rightside up I am at the low mark. Should I be getting this or should I be reading figure rightside up????????:banghead:

I get same reading no matter which way it's turned.
Is it bent on the end something that would cause it to point more to towards the center?

mine does the same and I cant remember which way I read from. I did a "checks and balance" on it by getting a reading after a full drain and fill.
