I know. I just can’t believe what the Porsche badge is worth these days. Back in the late 90’s I was lucky enough to trade my big block Chevelle for a 67 911. It had Webers and Minilites but the rest was stock. I loved that car. I guess that’s why my ex made sure that I didn’t keep it. lol ish. It was still worth it. Had a Boxster S for a while, but never had to work on it. Worked on a lot of SC’s at the time. Always thought I would get another 911 but so far it hasn’t happened yet. The price for parts is always shocking. Even back then. But I will say that when the part arrives, it is next level quality. But even in stock form, with proper maintenance, you can really drive those cars hard for 200/300k before you need a total rebuild. At least that was my experience with the air cooled series.
Honestly though, I guess I am really surprised what everything fun cost these days. My son is trying to find a project that he can call his own that’s different but even the dime a dozen Rovers are starting to dry up a bit. I have an old Alfa project that runs great but that’s a terrible first car for a lot of reasons. lol.
