Installed the 2" OME lift on my G4 On the weekend. Came out to be a pretty easy install, and came up with a few extra tips.

Don't even need to mess with a spring compressor at all. Disconnect the front driveshaft at the yoke, rest the shaft on the crossmember and you can drop the front axel low enough to re and re the springs super easy. (just be sure to disconnect the retianer clips for the brake lines, see pic).

For the rear, just remove the calipers from the rotors, and tie them up with bailing wire or whatever (so they don't hang on the brake lines)and you can drop the axle down easily enough to put the springs in without compressing them at all.

Did both front, and swapped out the SLS in the rear in about 2 1/2 hours. (including lunch and beer)

779 front, 781 rear. N107 front/N108 rear shocks. BFG AT's 265/75/16

Ho, thanks for the advice! The truck drives great, all in all, a great modification, money well spent!

I plan on giving the A bar the heave-ho once I save some $$ for a winch.

Craig, check out out club page:

Always somthing going on. I haven't been out much lately though, but hopefully that will be changing this summer. (now we have the Disco, so our 19 month old son can come on trips with us. It was a little tough in the Defender with the little guy)

I'm a member of the Pacific Coast Rover Club, but it looks like your events are actually closer to home than ours (despite being in a different country). Most of our runs are in OR.

Thanks for the link. Do you allow Americans? :)

Sure do! We even have a couple members in the UK.

Meetings are in Surrey, so it's even closer to the border than Vancouver for you.

That's it. I'm doing it! Thanks for giving me a serious case of the G4liftenvyvirus

Yeah... tell me about it! I've got same exact setup (OME & BFGs) sitting in the garage for a couple of months now... just bought another home so everything Disco-related got put on hold for a while :( You've got me thinking again, Scott, your truck looks good!
