Ongoing D2 Repairs

No2 son is going through a 'repair or bust' phase on his D2, the engine had a rear main leak like the Torrey Canyon (1967 marine accident - shows my age!) and he had a knock from the Watts linkage plus airbag issues.

In the end he took it off the road and we have been doing bits on it whenever we can, although with the very poor winter weather it hadn't got that far until February of this year.

Our spare V8 was stripped of the heads and the heads from his engine were fitted. These heads had been skimmed 10 months before and the valves were good.

New engine mounts at the front, a used multipoint LPG kit and most recently a Terrafirma air to spring conversion with 2" lift and the ACE system is coming off as I type, with solid ARB's going on.

Still a fair bit to do yet, the engine is in but he is getting the under chassis work finished off before he gets back on top again.

We work two streets away from where we all live, and he has the use of a company van, so no huge rush to get it all completed. We are due in Holland with the two Ruston diesel engines on the 4th June, then we are taking both D2's down to Nice in the South of France on a two-week camping/laning trip, leaving the engines in Nuenen.
