get yourself the redtop , assuming you are not running a gnarly amount of high-watt ancillaries

I just tucked a red top into the 92, but it will be hard to use the side posts for my winch, it is a tight fit with metal all around it. I may end up wrapping the metal and the side studs.

thought you weren't supposed to use side posts for a winch?
in any case, it's much easier to convert existing battery cables to side-post variety (nearly any parts store would have GM-style cables), and use top terminals for a winch.

no room in mine to do the GM side mounts, I will probabley have to put the winch cables on top as well. I have heard people say that the sides are not good for winching, but I have never had a problem with it, multiple pulls, etc... I think Optima does not reccommend it, but to each his own. Anybody see one go south doing it this way?

It won't go south, you just won't get as much current for your winch as from the top posts.
Strange that there's no room for side terminals - I have plenty of room in my 89.

I can get it in there, but there is very little room to put a wrench on the posts to tighten them down.
