Hi all!

This is just an exploratory email. We have not finalized anything yet. Hence this question.

We have a 95 Disco SE7 (with the jump seats) in exemplary condition. It has ~67K miles on it. Oil changes almost every 3K, since 25K miles (thats when we bought it). From what the LR dealer said when we bought it, it was maintained religiously by the previous owner too.

My Disco has primarily been used as a daily driver with less than 10 miles each way. We are planning on probably upgrading to a Rangie, if we can get a good price on the Disco.

The blue book value on it is around $10K. I am wondering if the blue book value is correct? Is that all a 95 Disco in great condition will go for?

BTW, it also has the factory 6 CD Changer and running boards. It has almost a year old OME shocks and 2 year old tires with probably 12K on them.

Regards,

Sanu

FWIW, IMHO....

The market on used Rovers has gone soft over the past year or so... they're just not moving like they were. Occasionally, there'll be a spike, a couple of really nice ones will sell high, but, on a whole, the trend is downwards. New SUV's are still selling well supposedly, but, a lot more are showing up on used lots these days. What you'll end up getting will vary, of course, depending on location, how quickly you want to move it, how you market it, etc.

2 years ago I gave $8k for my wife's '95 Disco... higher miles than yours, but it was in great shape (she's ridden it hard, to be nice about it). If I was in the market for another '95 Disco, and found a really nice one w/ your mileage, in this area, I'd not give over $7k, and I'd sure be thinking that $5k-$6k would be more in line.

Maybe in the Pac-NW, prices are running higher, maybe that $10k is an honest price there, I just don't know. If you really want that much for it, expect to hold out for some time to get it. If you want it to move quickly, shoot for a third less, maybe even half. Maybe too hard for your neck of the woods, but, that's what it would be around here...

FWIW, IMHO, yada yada yada.....

I almost choked Muskyman

Muskyman,

If what you said is where the market is, I will ride my Disco till the last bolt falls off.

Hey, she's lasted so beautifully over the last 9 years, if I can take care of her even half as much, or maybe double, she just might last for my kid to take it from me in 16 years.

Thanks a bunch, you all!

Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

Appreciate it.

Sanu.

I bought my '96 fully loaded Dicsco w/ ~69k about a month ago for $7k and I see '95s all the time for about 5k sometimes higher and lower.
