Picking up a set of D2 16" alloys soon and will be putting on some AT's and trying to decide between 2 sizes, either the 245/75 or 265/70 as they are almost the same height but the 265's are almots an inch wider. I believe the D2 alloys are 16x8 so will the 245's fit on an 8" rim? P38 still has the EAS system and i'm going to keep the system on there as i have almost all the parts to rebuild it when/if it breaks. I'd like to go with the GenIII bags for a little extra lift and some larger bump stops for when the system breaks.

Thoughts on the sizes?

I have 255/70/16's on my P38. That comes out to about 31". They are Cooper Discoverer STT. A very good AT tire. The size is good with the EAS. Doesn't rub in any mode, even access mode.

31 inch tires will fit fine with EAS, and only rub a little at the rear (loaded) when the EAS fails as mine did (only once)- fortunately after i finished the trail, just made for an uncomfortable 100 mile trip home on the freeway.
