Dave, you might try checking with Justin at Lucky 8. A while back he did an extensive off-road build using a P38. There is an entire thread dedicated to it on Discoweb with photos and descriptions, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. The idea, if I recall, was to demonstrate what was possible with the P38 so manufacturers would make more aftermarket upgrades for the model. It may not be what you're looking for, but it might give you some ideas at the very least. Someone else will probably post the link to the thread. Meanwhile, here's Lucky 8's website:
